CARING FOR YOURSELF
Here we
want to share with you some simple and important self care tips and technics
that can help you to build better connection with yourself, manage stress and navigate
challenges. Many of them are widely known and feel a common sense, but we find
it valuable to list them here, because even though people often come across such
tips on various channels, awareness about and willingness to adopt them accumulates
gradually. We know that they work well and hope that they can be useful to you
in ups and down of your life.
When stress is at its worst, we often lose contact with ourselves and start to neglect our hobbies, relationships, free time and pleasures. As a result, our stress only worsens and we get caught up in a vicious circle where self-care is neglected and stress grows.
“Self-care” refers to both technics and exercises that can support your psychological and physical wellbeing, like cultivating self-awareness and practicing meditation, and taking time to do things you enjoy, like spending time with friends, going for a walk, picking up a new book, or being creative and expressive in a way you really enjoy. The important thing about self-care is not so much what you do—it’s just that you do it.
Even though in times of stress our focus often shifts outwards, it is important in those and other times to make self-care a priority. There will always be things to do, but don’t let them interrupt the time that you set aside for yourself. You can even set some specific goals, such as taking a walk in some green area every day, or writing a journal about you hopes and frustrations for one month, or finding 3 things each day of your life that you are happy about.
Please make self-care a habit. Choose activities can do often and stick with them.
We list some of these points of attention, exercises and actives here.
